I’ve talked with you before about how important the teen’s attitude is when it comes to how they are approaching their driver education, and today I’m talking to you about how important your attitude is, as the parent/instructor.
Teaching your teen to drive doesn’t have to be a begrudging task. Personally, I love teaching, and so I always look forward to the in-vehicle lessons I conduct when I decide to take on a qualified client. Honestly, it’s easy to love teaching.
When you see that look on your student’s face when what you’re saying just clicks: I love that.
When your student finally gets that technique correct that they were struggling with not long ago: I love that.
I’ve heard it said that you should do what you love, but when you’re teaching your teen to drive, love what you do! You can see it on your teen’s face when they’re enjoying the lesson, and they can see it on your face when you love teaching them.
Everyone remembers where they learned to drive, and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. So love it!
