Where should you target when you are parking – on a pull through or angle parking?

The mistake that most folks make when they angle park or parking in a pull-through space is that they lower their eyes. In fact, you can see them leaning forward, trying to look over the hood of the car to see if they have any more space to move into or should stop. That is a very common mistake – one even a lot of experienced drivers make.

Your target should still be at eye level as you imagine the path way ahead that your forward pivot point would track. Of course, you do this while you are controlling your speed (just creeping really) with the brake and using your peripheral vision to tell you when you have gone far enough into the space.

Doing so will enable you to always stop with the vehicle and the wheels straight.
