Part 3 of our Attitude vs Behavior series actually comes from something one of our clients wrote to us. He wanted to thank us for giving him the opportunity to become a competent and confident driver. That says a lot about his attitude towards his driver education. He didn’t approach the process as something he just had to get out of the way so he could get his license. He saw his driver education as an opportunity to prepare himself for the many years he will be spending behind the wheel as he drives throughout the rest of his life.

This is a great way to see your own driver education process, whether you’re the parent or the teen or student; driver education is not just about getting the driver license, it’s preparation for the lifetime of driving you’re about to embark on. Approach your driver education as an opportunity, rather than a chore, and you’re likely to get more out of the process, and enjoy it more as well. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: you only learn to drive once, and everyone remembers their driver education experience, so take the time, and do it right. This isn’t just the precursor to the driver license, it’s the foundation of your entire driving experience from here on out. It’s an opportunity to build yourself or your student into a competent and confident driver.
