Today’s coaching tip comes from a customer comment from one of our Driver Ed in a Box® graduates. After telling us how much he enjoyed the program, he told us that he looks forward to helping his younger siblings when they go through the course. That’s a good attitude to have (remember that series we did on Attitude vs. Behavior?). We like that he’s ready to help other young drivers become collision-free drivers. So, the question is, how can you help influence other drivers to become collision-free drivers? We like the stance of lead by example, mainly because that means that you, too, will be a collision-free driver (unless you set examples of what not to do). If you’re a Driver Ed in a Box® graduate with younger siblings, remember that there’s a good chance your younger siblings look up to you and will want to do the things that you do when they get to be your age. So, set a good example and demonstrate good, collision-free driving techniques around them, and you can not only help them be collision-free drivers, you can help them want to be collision-free drivers.
